Ep 13
It was Sunday evening 6pm and Candace was busy preparing for Hyun Joong to come for the dinner at her house. Selena had left them alone so not to disturb them.
Soon, it was 7.30pm and Candace had finish preparing the food already, waiting for the arrival of Hyun Joong.
It was 7.45pm, Hyun Joong is still not here.
"Why is he always late?!" thought Candace.
Just then, her phone vibrated. It was a message from Hyun Joong. 'Something happened, i can't make it for the dinner tonight, i'll explain.'
Candace fuming upon seeing the message, after all the hard work preparing for the dinner, he say he couldn't come.
"Ugh!" Candace shouted throwing her phone on the sofa.
She looked at the food she made, she had already lost her appetite.
Candace sighed and left her house for a walk down at her house and to have some fresh air.
While walking along her neighborhood, she came to the beach. There were some couples there making her think of Hyun Joong. She sighed and quickly walk away.
Suddenly she saw a couple sitting down on a bench and the guy look like Hyun Joong.
Candace took a closer look. It is Hyun Joong! Then who the girl beside him?! She took a step forward, the girl was lying on Hyun Joong's shoulders.
"Its... its... Chae Rim?!" thought Candace. She was confused, "What?! Why would Chae Rim be with Hyun Joong and lying on his shoulders?!"
"Wha... What should i do? Why did Hyun Joong do this to me?! Why?! Ugh!" thought Candace.
She feel tears coming, she tried to hold it back. She calm herself down and think properly,"Ok... Calm down. Maybe its not like that. Maybe i've seen the wrong person."
She wipe her tears from her eyes and took a deep breath. She look at the couple again. There's no more doubt. It is them. She clenched her fist and bit her lower lip, she wanted to go up to them and have a big fight. But when she took her first step, she hesitated.
"Ugh!" Candace said. She couldn't do it. She turned and walk back to her house. Tears keep come down even when Candace tries to stop them.
"Ahhhhh!" Candace shouted, letting her anger out.
She sat on the sofa, hugging the pillow. Trying to keep her mind blank but the image of Hyun Joong keeps coming out.
An hour past and Candace was still sitting on the sofa.
'Knock knock' someone's at the door but Candace did not response.
The person knocked again, Candace ignored.
'Click' the door was opened. It was Hyun Joong.
"Hey... The door was open so i came in." said Hyun Joong.
Candace did not reply.
"Sorry i can't make it to dinner. But i still can eat now right?" asked Hyun Joong.
Seeing that Candace is ignoring him, Hyun Joong asked,"You ok?"
There was silence.
"Hello? I'm talking to you! Hey! Thick-skinned kid!" shouted Hyun Joong.
Hyun Joong soon notices Candace's red eyes.
"Are you crying?" asked Hyun Joong reaching out for Candace's shoulders.
Candace push his hand away. "Wha... What's wrong?" asked Hyun Joong.
"You are the who's wrong!" shouted Candace.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" asked Hyun Joong.
"Stop this act already! I saw everything! You don't have to pretend." shouted Candace.
"Huh? I have no idea what are you talking about!" said Hyun Joong.
"I saw you with... with... Chae Rim! She was lying on your shoulders! I saw it with my own eyes!" shouted Candace.
"No! You have mistaken! It was because Chae Rim broke up with her boyfriend, she was sad and was said so i merely just lent her my shoulders! We're just friends!" Hyun Joong starting to raise his voice.
"You can say whatever you want! You're always lying! How do i know if you are speaking the truth!" shouted Candace.
"Couples are suppose to trust each other! You keep talking about my faults! What about you and that Jordan guy?!" shouted Hyun Joong.
"What?! I said there is nothing between me and Jordan! He is just a friend! How many times must i say that?!" asked Candace angrily"
"Then how many times must a say that Chae Rim and i are friends?!"shouted Hyun Joong.
"Thousands times and i still won't believe you!" shouted Candace.
"Stop being a unreasonable kid!" shouted Hyun Joong.
"Fine! I am a unreasonable kid! I'm 15 and i'm still a kid! Blame my mum for giving birth to me so late! There's a age gap between us! You're not happy with it?" asked Candace.
"It's not that! I'm not happy because you're being so childish!" shouted Hyun Joong.
"If i'm childish then you're just a old man! A Old Ahjussi(Uncle)!" shouted Candace.
"Stop! I don't want to argue!" shouted Hyun Joong.
"Well, too bad! We've have been arguing for the past few minutes!" shouted Candace.
Hyun Joong sighed,"I'm going home... I don't want to stay here."
"Fine! Go! Go and never come back!" shouted Candace.
The door slammed, Hyun Joong left.
Candace squat down on the floor and buried her head in her body. Tears start flowing. Hyun Joong is out of her life.
The next few days, she accompanied Jordan to visit Korea. However, when she came to the place where she and Hyun Joong came before, she starts to miss Hyun Joong uncontrollably.
Candace and Jordan sat on the bench where she and Hyun Joong sat before. She thought about the conversation they had when they were sitting here.
Deep in thought, Jordan asked,"Candace? You listening to what i'm saying?"
"Yeah... Em... You are talking about ants right?" asked Candace.
"I was talking about my aunts," said Jordan.
"Oh... Sorry. I was distracted and thinking about something else..." said Candace.
"That's ok." said Jordan.
"Sorry about it. I'll listen to what you're about to say now." said Candace.
"Ok. Candace, I know this may sound weird now... But i think i'm going to say it." Jordan cleared his throat. "Candace, i... I really missed you during the days you were in Korea. Back in the days when you were still in Singapore, i didn't treasure you as much as i'm suppose to... Now that we're separated, i really missed you."
Candace didn't know what to say.
"Your brother said you had a crush on me, i was shocked when i first hear it, but i think i'm feeling the same thing now. Do you want to start fresh with me?" asked Jordan.
Candace, dumbfounded said,"I... I..."
