Ep 8
Candace cleared throat upon hearing the three words. She bit her lower lip. Her heartbeat was beating fast, she slowly turned to Hyun Joong.
He was only sleep talking.
Candace sighed.
Hyun Joong continue to mumble some stuffs and said, “I love you, Chae Rim!”
“Chae Rim?!”Candace thought. “Jerk Oppa has been in love with Chae Rim all this while? No wonder he would be so nice to bring me to learn Gayageum! And looking so anxious when he sees her…”
Candace sighed and looks up, preventing her tears from dropping and to think that all this while she has been crushing on Hyun Joong while he is thinking of someone else.
Candace clenched her teeth together, she walked out of the car and slams the door. Her tears trickled down as thinking that she is stupid enough to think that Hyun Joong likes her. She wipe away her tears and took a deep breathe. She walks to 7-11 and bought a bottle of mineral water. She walked back and splashes the water at Hyun Joong.
“Huh? What?”asked Hyun Joong.
“Wake up, time to go back…” Candace said.
“Huh? Go back? What time is it?” asked Hyun Joong.
Candace did not reply.
“Hello? Thick-skinned kid?” asked Hyun Joong.
“What?” Candace asked angrily.
“I’m asking you something. What are you so angry for?” asked Hyun Joong.
“Nothing! Can we just go back!?” asked Candace.
“Ok, ok. Relax will you?” asked Hyun Joong.
Candace looks away and folded her arms.
On the way, Candace did not say anything. Feeling that the atmosphere is not right, Hyun Joong asked, “Hey, thick-skinned kid. Why are you so quiet? Your mouth would usually keeps talking.”
Seeing that Hyun Joong was worried, she said, “Nothing, didn’t sleep well last night…”
“Oh… You want me to tell you a joke?” asked Hyun Joong.
“No thanks. I’ve reached,” Candace said. “And, you don't have to fetch me next week. I know the way.”
“But I think…”before Hyun Joong can finish talking, Candace has already slammed the door.
He jumped and thought, “Girls get really angry if they don’t get their sleep.”
The minute Candace step in her house, Selena rushed out of her room and asked, “Candace! How did the date go? Where did you go? What happen? And Why are you back so late? I mean… its 5.30am now, so why are you back so early? Wait, that sound wrong too… Em…”
“I don’t want to talk about it…”Candace said going back to her room.
“Wait! I still have a lot of question to ask you!” Selena said, but Candace has already closed her door.
Candace sighed and crawled to her bed. “Ugh!” she thought. Feeling disappointed and angry, Candace hit her pillow as to let out her anger.
Lying on her bed, Candace soon fell asleep.
‘Knock knock’ Selena came in her room and brought in a bowl of soup.
“Hey girl! Brought you soup,” Selena said.
“Thanks. But I'm not hungry…”Candace said.
“Well, you got eat something!” Selena said.
Candace nodded and while she was eating her soup, Selena stared at her.
“Yes?” asked Candace.
“Oh… nothing... It’s just that maybe you have something to share… like a story. Maybe your story… or something that happen… I don’t know… Maybe yesterday...? Just tell me what happen!” asked Selena anxiously.
Candace told Selena the ‘story’.
“What? He likes that girl? What’s so good about her? Although I’ve never seen her… But I mean can she be better than you?” asked Selena.
“Well, let's see. She got fair skin, big eyes, small nose and mouth, good teeth, slim and she’s 23, same age as Hyun Joong. And Hyun Joong likes her. I don’t see what what’s not good,”said Candace.
“Well… Em… Does she have a kind heart like you? Good manners?” asked Selena.
“She cooked a bowl of noodles for me, smile to me whenever she sees me, she would rush over to teacher when teacher call her name while I’m just someone who gets kick out of a Gayageum class,” replied Candace.
“Er, you are hard working,” said Selena.
“Yeah. I was so hard working that I failed my exams in Singapore. Chae Rim is just too perfect, every man would want her. Even I want her… if I was a man,” said Candace.
“Haha. Well, don’t get to upset ok? Love is like this… love like this...”Selena said and both of them are looking at each and started singing ‘Love like this’. They laughed but it made Candace thought more about Hyun Joong.
Seeing that Candace looking disappointed, Selena said “Opps. Sorry… Didn’t mean to do that.”
“It’s ok. I'll just be a green pea to him. Nothing else more,” said Candace.

Candace tried to forget about Hyun Joong during the weekdays. She worked extra hard in improving her studies and playing Gayageum.
However, whenever she hear her classmates saying 'SS501' or 'Kim Hyun Joong'.
Candace would direct her attention.

Soon it was Saturday.
It is 7.30am and Candace set off early so not to be late.
She walks down and and saw a car parked near there.
She walked away and the car horned her.
Candace jumped, she turned and it was Hyun Joong driving the car.
She ignored him and continue to walk.
He horned again. Candace walk to the car window and bend down.
"Come on, get in,"Hyun Joong said.
"I told you i can go myself,"Candace said.
"You are still not familiar with the place. You'll get lost, just get in!"said Hyun Joong.
"No! I can go myself!"Candace insisted.
"Since i'm here, just get in,"said Hyun Joong.
"No!"shouted Candace.
"Stop being a kid!"said Hyun Joong.
"Well, too bad. I am a kid. Happy?!"said Candace.
Hyun Joong sighed. "Hey... Sorry if i made you angry, ok?" Candace had already walk away.
While Candace was walking, Hyun Joong's car followed slowly behind her.
Candace tried to ignore him but a few cars are horning at him.
Candace sighed and walk to his car window again.
"Stop following me! The cars are horning at you,"said Candace.
"Then get in my car so i can drive faster,"said Hyun Joong.
"Why are you so insistent?"asked Candace.
"Because i'm worried,"said Hyun Joong. Candace was touched upon hearing that but Hyun Joong continue to say,"I'm worried as a brother."
Candace turned and walk away.
Still, Hyun Joong follow behind her.
Candace wasn't concentrating where she is going, when she stopped and look around, she was lost.
It was 8.15 and she is going to be late.
She look around for help but there was only Hyun Joong.
Left with no choice, she walk to Hyun Joong's car and and step in his car.
Hyun Joong said,"Wow. Your skin is really thick. The last few minutes you were insisting to go yourself but the next minute you were in my car."
Candace blushed,"Let's just go."
"Admit that you're thick-skin first."said Hyun Joong.
Candace did not say anything.
"Its 8.20 now if we don't go now, you're going to be late,"said Hyun Joong.
Candace was turning to the car door.
Hyun Joong pull her arm and said,"Wait. I'm just kidding."
Hyun Joong drives and and asked,"You're really quiet, is something wrong?"
"Nothing,"Candace mumbled.
They've reached and Candace said,"Thanks. You don't have to wait, i know the way back."
"Its ok. I.." before Hyun Joong finish, Candace had left.
